Hawaii

We made the trip to the islands!  After nearly three years since my last visit, we did it. My mom traveled with the kids and me, and Trevor was able to make it four full days in between (his first vacation since moving to Spokane).  We met up with Molly, Malia, Jett, my dad, Ryan, Kai, Lailan and Phil, Bamma and even Uncle Chuckie.  A mini family reunion  Good fun.  Lots of trips to the aquarium, swimming in the pool, lunch (and playing in the sand) at the Outrigger, and even a swim in the ocean (until Bon saw a four foot eel - after that NO THANK YOU!).  The kids were exhausted by bedtime!  Ryan and I hiked Diamond Head (and almost passed out afterward because the smoothie place only took cash and we had a debit card and $5 because we spent the other $5 on the hike and cold drinks for the hike).

The kids were too good on the flights.  After our trip over there I thought I'd certainly be jinxed and have terrors on the way home.  Not so.  The day before we took off I took Millie in because she kept crying saying "ear hurts."  Sure enough - the start of an ear infection.  She got antibiotics and I gave her numbing drops for the flights and she was wonderful. The other two - suffered through reading books on the two hour leg between Spokane and San Francisco, and watched five hours straight of Scooby Doo DVDs San Francisco to Honolulu.  Unbelievable.
