A day in the Kettrick house can be very non stop (when it's not a jammies til noon kind of day). I thought it'd be fun to pictures as the day progressed.
I had an entire post all set to publish but blogger is giving me major problems and causing me to want to throw my computer out the window. Deep breaths....
We had a fun day yesterday of, well, waking up, watching old videos, cleaning house, doing dishes, and playing with puzzles. All before the older two woke up. Then the fun continued with eating breakfast, playing some more, some dog training, going to Georgia's tennis lesson and playing at the park. Murphy did take off Georgia's necklace before going to the park (but kept on his basketball jersey). Millie told him "boys not wear necklaces." Classic.
Amy and the girls met us at the park, so it was a treat for everyone! Georgia was so surprised after she was finished with her lesson to see her best buds. They played and played until they ran out of steam (or I did). We were all starving and hot and tired but Georgia's violin lesson was at 3pm, and I knew if we went home at 1:45, Millie would fall asleep (or have a melt down), and nobody would want to get back in the car to go to violin an hour later. So, we decided to go to Fiesta Mexicana, right down the road from violin. The kids and I inhaled our lunches (and they got to experience Shirley Temples), and since we had some extra time, some ice cream for dessert. We had a blast, the four of us, sitting in the booth laughing and being silly. I don't take time enough to just hang out with them. What a bunch of clowns. I love the fact that when the waitress asked me how much longer I had (of being pregnant) and if it was a boy or girl, Millie pipes up "A baby sister. My big brother's Murphy and my big sister's Georgia."
Post Mexican food we all looked even less desirable than we did with sunscreened hair and faces and sweat post park. Oh well - that's summer, right!?
The kids and I ran to get gas after dropping off Georgia. We took our time, but it still left us with about ten extra minutes to play in the car until she was finished. I talked to Gramma Alice, detailed the car (ha ha) with baby wipes, and tried to organize the heap that was taking over my front seat (tennis apparel, running shoes, sunscreen bottles, water bottles, my purse, oh my). Murphy and Millie entertained themselves in their tired stupor until finally the four of us were on the road headed home.
Murphy and Georgia took their seats on the couches to watch some KPBS while Millie and I played Legos. OK, I started "building" with her and let her take over so I could try to figure out my computer, which shut down seven times on me. I called The Man and he said the soonest he could come out was Monday afternoon, and that it sounded like the fan wasn't functioning properly and my hard drive was getting overheated. So, I figured maybe I should take a break from the computer and let it cool down. We continued building.
I got a text from Tina a few minutes before Trevor walked through the door asking if I wanted to go to Nordies with her. I had a bag of things to return from last week's trip to Nordies and hadn't made it downtown this week, so I said sure! Plus, why would anyone ever turn down a trip to Nordies with Tina? So, after a quick "Hi, Trevor! Bye, Trevor!" I was out the door. I did my returns (and shopping...) and Tina did hers (her quest was an outfit to wear to her reunion) and by 8pm we were both starving. We hit up Rock City then headed home. Great evening.
Great day. Exhausting day on the go, but a great day for sure!
