In roughly 13 hours, Trevor and I will be making the drive to the hospital to start the induction process. That means in less than 24 hours we will be holding a sweet little baby girl. It seems so unreal. The past year has been quite eventful. We have had some major "downs," but from them it seems that there have come so many "ups." If someone would have told me a year ago that I would have an MRI find a brain tumor...a really big brain tumor...have surgery, and find out I was pregnant all within a few months I wouldn't have believed a word. It seems strange to me now that I feel the most in control, happy, fulfilled, and in-the-right-place now than I have in my entire life. Things are good. Things are great, actually. I couldn't ask for anything better at this point. I am less than a day away from meeting a little angel who will change our lives forever. She will turn the Kettrick Five into, well, one more!
I set up the bassinet yesterday, and boy did that make things exciting. I thought to myself "there is going to be a little body sleeping in that (or in my bed) in a few days." Trevor came home from work last night and said he had the first vision of him holding the little baby girl. It really struck us. Georgia almost squeals when she says "I just can't wait to see what she is going to look like!" Millie scoots over in her car seat and says her baby sister will sit next to her in the car. Murph tells anyone who will listen that his baby sister will be here soon. We will have a house-full of big-eyed, big-hearted kids when we return on Monday.
I am so thankful that my friend is coming to take pictures at the hospital and after to capture this awesome time. I never did such a thing with the other three, but I'm really excited to do so now. I feel like we have this awesome family and this little addition will complete it all. Best to document it! I can't wait to have the picture in the hospital bed with my four kids and husband surrounding me. Cliche, perhaps, but you won't find a happier me!
I have all day long to wait for Trevor to get home from work, run errands, finish things up around the house, etc. This could be one of the longest days in history. Oh, but the reward at the end...
So, by nine PM tonite, think happy thoughts for a quick, easy, speedy delivery. And think of a blog name that includes the littlest addition because I sure can't come up with anything!
