| Georgia did this awesome watercolor a while ago...I just got it back from a friend who make a frame for it! |
Watching Georgia at Irish dance today, so was so frustrated. Frustrated to the point of tears. She was having trouble with one step, and her teacher kept asking her to repeat it. Her teacher asked if she needed a water break, and she declined. Her little face turned red and her breathing was audible. She danced her little heart out through the tears. Her teacher kept telling her to relax and not get nervous or stressed.
On the way home, I asked Georgia why she was getting frustrated. She said her old teacher taught that one step a different way, but she didn’t want to say anything. So for the last twenty minutes of practice, Georgia suffered through her pent up frustration.
I strongly dislike excuses. If you’re late, you’re late. It isn’t the fault of the rain or that old lady crossing the street. If you are overweight, work out. Don’t complain about the pounds. If you’re unhappy about something, change it.
I’m afraid this trait of mine has rubbed off on Georgia. She said she didn’t want to tell her teacher that her old teacher taught the step differently. She figured she would just learn the new way. I could definitely see another girl in the class complain about never having been taught the step.
I admire Georgia for so many things.
This is high on my list:
