GA Milestone

Quite the day for Ms. Georgiarella! Pretty proud of her. Only a few tears after a minor wipeout which resulted in a scratch which turned out to be just a pen mark...tears went away quickly!!

It's really hard for me to believe Georgia is about 4 1/2. Time has FLOWN by. And to think we have two more to follow in her footsteps. She is such a great kid. Her wheels are (now literally) always spinning. She is always so inquisitive and commits the answers to memory. She has a great memory. "Remember when I was two and we lived in Arizona and we went to the pumpkin patch and I got my face painted?" "Remember when we were in Japan and I held Nani's friend's hand?" "Mommy - don't forget I can't wear my best dress to school tomorrow because we're planting bulbs." She would have otherwise been in a dress for certain. I must admit I have a pretty good memory and generally don't forget things or forget to do things, but she definitely puts me in my place at times! What a neat kid. I was talking to my friend the other day about our kids getting older and becoming their own people. I told her I want all of my kids to be kind people. I know a lot of it has to do with parenting and instilling values. I also think a lot of it is innate. Yes, I have taught my kids to be respectful to others. Yes, I have taught them 'please' and 'thank you' matters a lot. But no, I didn't tell Georgia that if she sees a friend fall down at recess to rush over and help her up without question.

I have heard quite frequently as of late "what a nice family" we have. Of course I have to agree. But I have to attribute much of that to my kids and who they are becoming. What I love is how Murphy picks up on things Georgia does. He'll say 'hi' to the bagger at the grocery store. He'll have little chats with parents in the waiting room for theater class. He's turning in to a (sometimes abusive!!) nice kid too. I only hope Millie follows suit.

I take joy in saying "what a nice family" I have!!
