Summer, Edition 1

So, we're day three in to the summer break and I may go crazy.  It's funny how I thought the two and a half hours the kids were in school in the mornings was like no time at all.  Now I would give anything for that schedule.  No, not really.  We're enjoying sleeping in and staying in jammies til late morning, but come 1pm the kids are killing each other.  So, we head to the store and the park and a walk around the block.  Whatever gets us close to dinner time so we can come back and I can make whatever is on the menu and let the kids chill out before "Trevor Lincoln" (as Millie calls him) comes home.  We're figuring out the routine of summer, however it will all change this coming Monday after we get home from the lake.  Camps start for the big kids and swim team, too.  We'll have an agenda for our mornings and afternoons, which will be a nice relief, and a good midday break.

Yesterday I cleaned the whole house.  Cleaned to the point of Millie asking me, "you Amanda, mommy?"  Amanda was our cleaning lady before I came up with the crazy idea to clean the house myself again.  Regardless, it felt like a great accomplishment to do it...until Murphy spilled his apple juice two times within 20 minutes of me mopping the floor.  Once on the wood and once on the carpet.  Again, praise the Lord for Flor carpet tiles!  I've been really good about making dinners too - trying out new recipes and planning ahead.  Yesterday, however, was a Qdoba night.  Those are allowed, right?

Now, we're off to the Spokane Club so I can work out and the kids can play in the "play area."  Whatever works....
