Little Personality

Millie is really starting to develop a little personality! She is becoming a lot more easy-going and doesn't have to be held every single second of the day! I left her for two hours one day and an hour on a different day with the saint Ms. Janie in the kids' daycare at the club to go to a little party and work out! She did great! She still won't take a bottle. She literally gags on formula - throws up on me only as if to say "If you try to feed me that crap again, that is what I'll do!" I don't mind, really. I am dreading her four month appointment when the pediatrician talks to me about feeding her solids. That's lame. That's messy. That's time consuming. Way easier to nurse while doing eighty million other things. Except while driving. Still haven't gotten brave enough for that one (although I've come close). CPS, I'm totally kidding.
Millie is the BEST at listening to my Annie song concert. GA and Murphy laugh like "are you serious?" and Millie just smiles like "that's my mom!"
Her face lights up when GA or Murphy come into the room. That's what it's all about. Molly said yesterday how it is so much easier with more than one kid because with two you'll always have an entertainer. SO true. I always say I can't believe I had Georgia all to myself for two years before Murphy was born...what in the world did I do all day?! Now we have two entertainers for Ms. Millie. She will surely never take naps with all the activity going on around her. I just think of all the bug-hunting, animal rescuing, living room picnicking, hiding in toy boxes and saying "Can someone try to find me?"-ing she has to look forward to. It's so neat. I hope she is as close with Georgia and Murphy as they are with each other.
I made baby food yesterday. Two different kinds of squash. Just in anticipation of her four-month appointment's outcome. We shall see how things go (it isn't for another two weeks, so I have time to make some fruit). I have a feeling she will be an oinker and only want the messy stuff. Oh well...maybe I can get another two hour break from Ms. Janie if she's fat and happy!
Truth be told, I'm glad I have a constant attachment on my hip. It doesn't last forever. In fact, things will change sooner than I'd like, I'm sure. It's happened twice before. All I ask is for an hour to run twice on the weekends. To be able to wash my face with two hands at night and not with a washcloth and one hand, with a toothbrush waiting to brush my (I forgot to brush my teeth again this morning) teeth in the other, balancing Millie on my hip. Perhaps a load of laundry folded (and put away!) for me every once in a while. I'll cook dinner every night so long as I have two hands to chop veggies. Oh, and a shower. Showers are good. I'll keep this job as long as a few of those things can be checked off my list! And if not, so worries. Maybe tomorrow!

Murphy Cracks Us Up

We were putting the basement living room/playroom together and Murphy says, "I'm a pirate!" Look at the foot...a peg leg. The kid is amazing!!

Identity

On any given day, I might be:
Mama Llama (from Dora the Explorer)
June (from Little Einsteins)

Dora

And I'm in big trouble if I don't stay in character. And if I don't call Murphy "Diego" or "Leo" or Georgia "Alicia" or Harley "Baby Jaguar" I'm in even bigger trouble!

My Job Here is Done

UPDATE: Georgia had her little theater class performance last night. Pretty cute. Grandma Cheryl, Roe, and Beezie were in attendance. Two of Georgia's best friends from school (twins) are in the class. Grandma Cheryl gave Georgia a bouquet of red roses after the performance and without hesitation started taking stems out and handing them to her friends! Who does that!??!

OK, not done, but I feel accomplished. At Georgia's preschool parent-teacher conferences, her teachers kept saying what a nice kid Georgia was. (That's about when I lost it). They gave me examples of how at snack some of the kids want to sit by so-and-so, and have a fit if they don't get to, and how Georgia brought her little lunchbox over to the table and when there wasn't a seat next to her best bud she said "It's OK, I'll sit over here." And how everyone has open arms to give/receive hugs when we get to preschool. And when my sister asked who her best friend at school was, Georgia replied, "Everyone!" I have always wanted my kids to be kind people. Evidence my desires are coming to fruition!

(Dining Room Table) Tennis Anyone?

Lack of ping-pong table? No worries. Use the dining room table!

Murphy's serve looked quite professional!
Ace.
Wicked forehand.

Lots of Treats on the Streets!

The cutest cowgirl in the neighborhood!
Millie's first Halloweenies...she has a lot to look forward to! Nice costume Murph!GA galloped between houses.
Making their way up to the door. Stairs are tricky with cowboy and cowgirl boots on. And with tons of wet leaves everywhere! We managed to avoid wipe-outs!Murphy had enough. Maybe it was merely the tail end of the sugar high.
"Hand over the Reese's!"

If she only knew how good they really are!

A successful Halloween!
