Murph funny
Murphy: Mommy, I love you more than an old fashion car, roof off, with fire blades all the way up to the sun.
Me: Thanks, Murph, that makes me happy.
Murphy: Me too!

Friend Tangent
Growing up, I can remember always being friends with everyone, no matter what group people "belonged to." I had "nerdy" friends, "cool" friends, I was friends with people in the "popular" crowd, and everyone in between. I always had several best friends - we had our own "group."
Side note: I see a lot of the same traits in Georgia. We pick her up from school and hear "bye Georgia!" from boys and girls alike. I love this about her.
I have felt so thankful for all of my friends. When we move to a new place, it takes a good six months to have a handful of people you could call good friends. It is a rough six months, too. I definitely have my handful after these two years of living here! I feel so thankful to have friends to call just to come over and hang out, without worrying about my house being a mess, or my hair being greasy. People that understand me. People I can be myself with. I have friends I would do anything for, and I know they would do anything for me or my kids. Friends I want to be around just because they make me happy. Friends that make me want to be the best I can be. I have friends I can count on to be there for my kids when I'm running late from an appointment or to stay with my kids when I was in the hospital. As an adult, I think these friendships are stronger and more meaningful than ever. Not only are my friends MY friends, but they are involved in the lives of my family. I love that Millie knows my friends (by first and last name!) so well that she feels as comfortable with them as she is with me. I couldn't ask for a better group of people to surround myself with. I am SO thankful! And to think of all the places my family and I lived growing up, I have friends from all over the place! Friends from as young as second grade who I'm "friends" with on facebook and still keep in touch with. I love that!

Pediatrician visit
The three younger kids and I had a field trip to the pediatrician yesterday. Charlie had her two week check-up and Millie had her two year. Millie donned her (washable marker) tat sleeve and got some good laughs at the office. There just wasn't enough time to change her before leaving, and she was ever-so-proud of her work. The rooms are really hot from the "roast beef lamps" they turn on to keep skinny little naked babies warm. The heat of the room in addition to my sweating in anticipation of the shots that were a comin' left me looking...not so hot. Dr. Thompson chatted a while; we talked about how every time he sees my neurologist at their boys' football practice he thinks of me and my tumor. Funny. He checked out Millie and said she is not, in fact, bipolar, but a normal "spirited" two year old with a lot of changes going on in her little world. He gave me suggestions for the night terrors she has been experiencing, and what to do when she wakes up every night. OK, so he gave me suggestions to pass on to Trevor since when there is a baby in the house, the two year olds and up are his nighttime responsibility. Next came Charlie, and she checked out just fine. She is up to 7lb 14oz, so whatever I'm doing is working. Then we began discussing vaccines. I knew Millie was in for it, and I thought Charlie was as well. Turns out she doesn't get nailed til her 2 month visit. Millie needed two, and she and Murphy were both able to get the nasal mist. Murphy was hesitant, but up first. Sniff, sniff, and he was done. Millie saw him take it like a champ and willingly hopped up on the table with the nurse and, sniff, sniff, done. Then the nurse asked her to lie down, which she did without question. Poor little buddy had no idea what was coming. Poke, poke, a big hug from me, and she was out the door with the nurse to get a prize. No tears. Excuse me!? All this sweating for no reason!? That was, by far, the easiest pediatrician visit ever. She is good on shots for a while, and Murphy doesn't need any until before kindergarten. Georgia needs a quick appointment for her flu mist, but poor Charlie is in for it at pretty much every appointment for the next long while. I was thinking back to the days of Georgia as a newborn, and Trevor would have to come with me to the check-ups, and I had to leave not only the room, but the building when it was time for her shots. I couldn't handle it. Now...not so much. Maybe because I have no choice. Poor kids.
Dr. Thompson gave me a figure to estimate the height of kids.
For girls: subtract 5 inches from the father's height, and average it with the mother's, and it's 2 inches plus or minus that. Basically, Brynn is in that 2% that doesn't fit the bell curve. My girls are estimated to be between 5'6" and 5'10".
For boys: add 5 inches to the mother's height, and average it with the father's. Again, plus or minus 2 inches. So you're sayin' Murphy has a chance to be something other than a jockey...He is estimated to be between 5'11" and 6'3". He better eat his Wheaties...
Millie is 97th percentile for height and 40th weight, and Charlie is 61st percentile for height and 30th weight. Murphy's 4 year old check-up is next Monday. His numbers should be interesting.

Millie is hilarious
Millie and I were making scones - she says "bate bate" as she stirs the mix. She added the water, and I said it was time to get the oil. She says very matter-of-fact-ly, "Alicia found oil. She helped clean it up. She helped the whale get away from the oil." I asked Murphy about this later, and he said, indeed, on Diego, he and Alicia saved the whales from the oil spill.
